They departed from the roadhouse at the entrance to the town and rode to Hoërskool Jan Viljoen.

This gesture followed a bullying incident at the school involving a Grade 10 girl who allegedly assaulted a Grade 9 boy. The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) confirmed that the incident took place at the school on Tuesday, 12 November after the learners had written their exams, and announced last week that the 16-year-old learner had been suspended with immediate effect. This emanates from video footage that went viral on social media, showing the girl assaulting the boy.

The bikers’ message was clear: Bullying in schools must stop.

Freddie Harmse, better known as Mr Wrestling, joined the mass ride and escorted the bullied victim for the morning. Freddie runs an anti-bullying campaign and helps to spread the anti-bullying message.

Multiple people came to the school to show their support. They were hoping to speak to the principal, but were unable to.

The bullied victim also received some words of encouragement from Mr Wrestling himself, who thanked the boy for the way he handled the situation. He was also awarded a certificate for being a ‘Back a Buddy against Bullies Youth Ambassador’.
