Westonaria Police have launched a manhunt after three thugs robbed a cellphone store in Westonaria on Wednesday 13 November at about 4.50pm.
“One of the three robbers entered the store under the pretence of wanting to buy a phone, but suddenly produced a firearm while two others joined him.
“They robbed the store of cash and a number of dummy cellphones,” Sergeant Audrey Sefara, spokesperson for the Westonaria Police said.
Sefara also said the suspects fled in a grey Toyota Corolla with a false registration number.
“Members of the police and other law-enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to crack down on the suspects,” Sefara added.
Colonel Selvan Moonsamy, Westonaria Police station commander has urged the community to come forward with any information that may assist the police in this case.
“One of the suspect reportedly was seen wearing a blue hoodie and carrying a firearm,” Moonsamy added.
