The Randfonten Police along with other stakeholders gathered at Village Square Shopping Centre recently to create awareness on escalating crimes during the festive season.
We interacted with the community to always be extra alert during this time and make sure to report any criminal activity taking place around them.
“We also urged the public to avoid carrying large sums of money as they may fall victim to crime,” said Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson.
She said crimes including theft and theft out of motor vehicles, business robbery, business burglaries, hijacking, common robbery, domestic violence and gender based violence, assaults, sexual offences cyber bullying, human trafficking and abduction are most prevalent this time of year.
