Another armed robbery, this time at a shop in Blyvoor, Carletonville, has left a woman severely injured.
This follows the sad news of the fatal shooting of a shop cashier at approximately 6pm on Friday, 1 November, in a business robbery on Bridges Street, Westonaria.

Regarding the armed robbery in Carletonville, Russel Meiring, the ER24 spokesperson, said paramedics arrived on scene at approximately 5pm to find a woman seated inside a vehicle parked outside a shop.
“Several law enforcement and security officers were in attendance. After assessing the woman, the medics found that she had sustained a gunshot wound to her left thigh and was in a serious condition,” said Russel.
Russel added the woman was transported to a nearby hospital after she was treated for her injuries at the scene.
“The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” said Russel.
