A man was shot and killed in a robbery

A shop cashier was shot and killed at approximately 6pm on Friday, 1 November, in a business robbery on Bridges Street, Westonaria.

A 34-year-old cashier was shot and killed at approximately 6pm on Friday, 1 November, in a business robbery on Bridges Street, Westonaria.

According to the Sergeant Audrey Sefara, spokesperson for Westonaria Police, they were informed that at least five suspects entered the shop. One of them was armed and fatally shot the cashier during the incident.

“They allegedly took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes and fled the scene on foot,” Sefara said.

Sefara added that: “According to the information we received, two of the suspects were wearing balaclavas, one of them with a green jacket and the other two suspects were wearing blankets. The armed suspect was wearing a dark-coloured cap,” Sefara added.

Members of the community have been urged to come forward with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
