MOTH parade to commemorate the end of WWI

Memorable Order of the Tin Hats (MOTH) Club to host a parade on Sunday, 10 November in Randfontein.

The Memorable Order of the Tin Hats (MOTH) Club will host a Remembrance Day parade on Sunday, 10 November to commemorate the ending of the First World War and to honour all comrades who passed away in all armed conflicts.

According to a statement issued this past week, the Caprivi MOTH Shellhole from Randfontein/ Westonaria and the Delville Wood/ Protea MOTH Shellhole from Krugersdorp amalgamated in 2018 and the new Shellhole, Caprivi Protea, has taken on the duties of organising the parade in 2019.

The parade is planned to take place on the MOTH parade ground and Cenotaph adjacent to Uncle Harry’s Roadhouse in Randfontein. The parade is set for 10am for a 10.20am start and should take one hour,” the statement read.

Highlights of the parade are:
10.30am – March in of parade – Flags unfurled
10.32am – Welcome address by MC – Cappro Executive – For the Fallen – Africa
10.35am – Introduction of speaker by MC – Speaker
10.55am – Introduction of Rev by MC – Prayer, reading, address
11.11am – Fly-past – South African Air Force
11.12am – Lowering of flags – Last Post – public seated
11.15am – Laying of wreaths – Military, MOTH, Public.
11.29am – Reveille and raising of flags
11.30am – March-past – Salute absent warrior/ vacant chair – parade dismisses
