The training course provided by Strat Training is in accordance with Unit Standard 11506 which is focused on the role of the designated and appointed Fire Marshal.

Those designated and responsible for overseeing Fire Safety, along with those who are interested in such, are required to possess adequate knowledge on basic fire fighting in addition to how to use a fire extinguisher.

The course is divided into 9 modules which cover topics such as the role of the fire marshal, liaison with Fire Services, actions which must be taken when a fire is discovered, and aspects associated with the chemistry of a fire.

Focus is predominantly on the implementation of fire drills along with evacuations, the location and use of fire extinguishers and other fire fighting equipment in the workplace.

Included in the training course are four modules which cover topics such as managing the scene of an emergency, basic human anatomy and physiology, and primary and secondary survey.

In addition to Basic Fire Fighting, which is aimed at the Fire Marshal, Strat Training also provides Basic Fire Fighting Level 2 training.

The aim of this course is to provide the candidate with the knowledge and skill of applying firefighting techniques in accordance with Unit Standard 13961.

During this course, candidates are taught the correct use of hand operated firefighting equipment which fires can be effectively extinguished.

This course consists of six modules covering topics such as the triangle of combustion, tetrahedron of combustions along with the means of spreading. The course also provides in-depth examination of evacuation procedures and action to be taken in case of a fire.

The Fire Fighting Training provided by Strat Training is in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 and is accredited by HWSETA.

Candidates who attend and successfully complete the course are provided with the necessary certification which is valid for 2 years before refresher training is necessary.
