Randfontein's beloved veterinarian couple, Drs Johan and Carien Naudé to unleash their inner beast in the USA.

Randfontein’s beloved veterinarian couple, Drs Johan and Carien Naudé, have departed for the USA to take on yet another adventure together.

What has been dubbed ‘The obstacle racing weekend of the year’ will feature three Spartan Race distances to choose from over two days (28 to 29 September) of racing, namely The Spartan Beast, the Spartan Ultra and the Spartan Trail, which will all be held at the Village at Squaw Valley located in North Lake Tahoe, California.

Johan and Carien, who got married in January this year, have accepted the Spartan Beast challenge. Carien, will however, be there to support her husband and not compete.

Husband and wife, Drs Johan and Carien Naudé, will represent South Africa at the 2019 Spartan Race.

According to the official website, https://www.spartan.com, the Spartan Beast will test everything you’re made of, namely strength, endurance and resolve with 21km and 30 obstacles between you and the finish line.

Johan said he qualified to represent South Africa after his performance in Kings Kloof, Muldersdrift as well as another event held in Dubai.

I had to train a lot for this opportunity and even picked up injuries along the way but I’m very happy to have qualified.”
