It’s #ThrowbackThursday and the Herald went back in time to 14 February 1987 to see what was in the news.
On the back page we reported that the first team of the Randfontein Rugby Club already had won the league, having beaten Pirates 32–16. This was a great achievement, especially because there were still fixtures left to play.
The Herald has since caught up with Johan Cronje, current chairman of the club, to reflect on 1987’s achievement and to update us on what the club has been up to in the last three decades.
