The Connie Mulder Centre wishes to make this Women’s Day extra special for their female residents, but they need Randfontein’s help. The centre was founded in 1975 and today they cater to the needs of 195 multi-disabled adults. They have 120 female residents and have big plans for their Women’s Day celebrations on 9 August. “Although our centre is partially state-subsidised, we rely on a number of fundraising events to alleviate the strain on the budget. We also place a lot of emphasis on decorating the venue, arranging for an appropriate guest speaker and showering the female residents with edibles and gifts,” said Gordon Henney, chief executive officer. He said that he is hoping that the community will contribute to this wonderful event by donating edibles. If you can assist in any way, please contact Fransie Hulme or Gordon Henney at the centre on 011 278 9904/ 5 /6 or send an email to info@conniecentre.co.za or ceo@conniecentre.co.za.
