The less fortunate were treated to some soup by staff of the Ben Morgenrood Group on Mandela Day, 18 July.
Hannetjie Stadler and her younger sister Manda Martins, spearheaded the project by braving the morning cold from 7am to 8am to make sure that the less fortunate stayed warm.
We were simply reaching out to the community on the day.
“We did it for 67 minutes to help the homeless and those who were exposed to the cold. This was our way of showing that we care about them,” Hannetjie said.
She said that 67 people were served to mark the famous #67 Minutes for Mandela on the day.
