The Cloete family are in mourning following the death of 50-year-old Donovan Cloete, who was councillor for Ward 8 in Toekomsrus.
Cloete passed away last Thursday, 23 May, allegedly following complications he developed after an operation, said his widow, Petronella.

Cloete was known for his extreme passion for the Toekies community and for fighting for the area to be cleared of asbestos. When asked what kind of person he was, Petronella said her husband was very loving, kind and always ready to care for others.
He is survived by his widow and two children.
