House for abandoned babies gets facelift

Roof leaks will be something of the past for Door of Care and Safety – a house for abandoned children in the CBD.

In just a week’s time, Door of Care and Safety, a home for abandoned children in the CBD, will have a refurbished roof.

Following months of prayers and efforts by Miss Randfontein finalist Shyla Nordin and her mother Jo-Anne, work to fix the roof began on Saturday, 18 May.

According to Jo-Anne, it will take a week to complete. They were heart-broken after hearing about the leaking roof that often caused the kitchen to become flooded during heavy rains.

“The Renew It Panel Beaters in Randburg gave us the funds to assist Door of Care Safety. We also thank Nantus Bouer contractor for repairing and repainting the roof,” Jo-Anne said.
