Get to know a ‘Teiner’ #113 — Nomsa Mahintsho

The 113th person in the Herald’s Get to know a Randfonteiner project introduces herself.

Meet our ‘Teiner’ of the week, Nomsa Mahintsho, 37, of Bekkersdal.

She described herself as a woman who will push the boundaries to make her dreams come true, even if the odds are against her.

Nomsa, who was born and bred in Bekkersdal, said although life can be challenging at times, she lives with the hope that one day she will achieve all her dreams.

“I believe this can only happen when I work hard and stay determined because when you are in my position, being someone who has no education, you are very likely to stay unemployed for a very long time,” Nomsa said.

She explained further, “When you are the sole breadwinner of your family, you have no choice but to push yourself harder”.

Between working odd jobs and selling sweets and biscuits, Nomsa said she is grateful for every cent she makes as it helps to put food on the table.

To be a good parent, you must lead by example. You should always teach your children that one has to work hard and never give up on your dreams,” Nomsa added.
