Elandsvlei power cuts to last till end of June

Residents and businesses in Elandsvlei will experience power outages from 8am to 4pm every Tuesday and Thursday as of today, 16 May until the end of June.

Tshidiso Thlaripe, Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) spokesperson, confirmed that these power outages can be expected for at least a month.

The Executive Manager of Infrastructure at the RWCLM, Bongani Nkambule, said in a press statement that the whole of Elandsvlei will be experiencing power outages to allow for upgrades to be done on the electricity network.

“We apologise for the inconvenience. All electrical installation and apparatus must be treated as being live at all time,” he warned.
