International Nurses’ Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.

“Today we celebrate the contribution that these nurses make towards the health and wellness of our patients and the community. We want to revive their commitment to this profession by thanking them for everything they do,” Ryno said.

They were treated to an indoor picnic and learned a few relaxation exercises and techniques to help them to deal with their workload. They also reread the Nurses Pledge during the event.

“This day is celebrated worldwide and it’s such an honour to be celebrating it with some of Randfontein’s best nurses. We have two sessions to make sure that every nurse gets the chance to get treated,” he said.
