Celebs Karlien, Jo Black chip in for charity

Fundraiser held for youngsters of Trinity Dance Company hoping to go to Croatia.

Celebs Karlien van Jaarsveld and Jo Black hope their performances at a fundraiser for the youngsters of Trinity Dance Company will help make the dreams of the eight young dancers come true.

The fundraiser was held at the Greenhills Sports Stadium on Friday, 19 April.

Although the dancers qualified to participate at the DanceStar Finals – World Dance Masters to be held in Croatia in 2018, the group has to raise the funds needed to get them to the competition, which will be held in May this year.

“At the moment, we are between R80 000 and R100 000 short – we need R35 000 per child,” said Daleen Vorster, co-director of Star EventOvasion.

She added the turnout was better than expected considering it was a long weekend and the fact that they organised this event in just three weeks.

Daleen also thanked all the locals who went to the fundraiser to show their support.
