A total of 140 Easter eggs were handed out to the elderly residents and staff members of Friendship Haven during their lunch on Friday 19 April, as a complimentary gesture to enjoy Good Friday.
This initiative was spearheaded by nine-year-old Shyla Nordin, another Miss Randfontein 2019 finalist, as one of her charity projects.
When asked about the purpose of the project, Shyla said, “I thought it would be a good ideas to take 140 Easter eggs with a Bible verse to Friendship Haven for all the elderly residents in the ward and the staff to lighten up their day. The purpose was also to spread the message of Jesus’ love among those at the facility.”
