Last day for free vehicle safety checks ahead of Easter

RMI vehicle testing stations around the country are offering motorists free safety critical checks on their vehicles, but hurry, today is the last day!

If you haven’t checked your vehicle before your Easter holiday trip, then head to your nearest participating Testing Station as today, 18 April is the last day that free safety critical checks will be available.

From 11 to 18 April, participating Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) vehicle testing stations around the country have been offering motorists free safety critical checks on their vehicles. The week-long campaign aims to help motorists make safety their first priority this Easter holiday.

Roads during the holidays are notoriously dangerous and extra precautions need to be taken. It’s therefore essential to have a multi-check on your vehicle to identify potential hazards, and prevent additional damage before it happens.

The RMI Vehicle Testing Association (VTA) continues to give its full commitment to road safety in South Africa. To locate your nearest participating Testing Station, call your regional RMI office on any of the numbers provided at the end of this article.

NOTE: This check is not a roadworthiness test, but rather a Safety Critical Test to ensure your vehicle is free from defects before you embark on your festive season journey, with the aim being to reduce the number of road deaths this holiday season.

Please note that there are currently no participants in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, the Free State or the Eastern Cape.
