Clothing, toiletries donated to hostage victims

The centre empowers communities to be self-sufficient through engaging in life-changing programmes. On Thursday, 4 April, the National Freedom Network (NFN) donated various personal items. The donations come after the centre took in more than 20 victims who were recently held hostage by illegal miners at Libanon Mine in Westonaria.

Diane Wilkinson, CEO of NFN, said clothing items, shoes, toiletries and even books were given to the centre and said the initiative seeks to make the work of the organisation easier, as it shelters victims of human trafficking.

Oupa Bila, Manager of the Caroll Shaw Memorial Centre, expressed his gratitude for the generous donations.
