Two suspects were arrested recently after police recovered a vehicle in Zuurbekom that had been hijacked in Magaliesburg in the Krugersdorp area.
Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, the Bekkersdal Police spokesperson said, “A vehicle hijacked in Magaliesburg earlier this month was recovered in Zuurbekom by members of the Krugersdorp Flying Squad.

“The members were following up on information which led them to the recovery of the hijacked vehicle. Two suspects aged 39 and 55 were arrested and are expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
“We appreciate the communities who are working with the police, however, hijackings remain a concern. We urge the community of Zuurbekom to assist in rooting out criminals that are within our communities.”
Colonel Tinus Swart, the Bekkersdal Police station commander added, “Those victims who are hijacked or robbed of their vehicle on a daily basis could be our families. Let us be responsible citizens and report crime.”
