Community members learn about their human rights

In light of Human Rights Day, the Randfontein Library facilitated a basic human rights discussion and sharing programme at the library on Friday, 15 March.

The basic human rights each of us are entitled were discussed at the Randfontein library on Friday, 15 March.

The event came a week or so before actual Human Rights Day is to be celebrated across the country on Thursday, 21 March.

Some of the speakers included Sharon Govindasamy, a councillor from Mogale City Municipality, Mzolisa Maololo, a prosecutor, Enrique Bhana of Women Against Women and Child Abuse (Wawa) and Sister Asnathi who spoke about human rights as they pertain to health.

Members of the Randfontein community took part in the discussion and asked a lot of questions.
