Well, that was the plan …
The Herald was invited to experience Silverstar’s February Night out for Two deal, which features a meal (at selected restaurants), drinks (one each), entertainment (choice of either a movie, tenpin bowling or Laser Tag), bingo and parking vouchers.
My plan was simple. To take some pressure off the wifey and let her enjoy a meal with me in style, sip a cold one and finally conclude the evening with something less romantic and more competitive, namely tenpin bowling.
All of the above happened, except the very last part.
Sorry guys, but yes, I let you down and lost by a massive 4-point margin, the final scoreline being 86–90.
I was so close. To explain and be honest, everything went wrong from the start. My first attempt did not even strike one single pin. A few poor attempts followed and wifey capitalised on them with more accurate play. You see, I was over-confident or it could’ve been my fingers that kept getting stuck in the holes of the bowling ball. Point is, Clint ‘Flintstone’ Botha has more practising to do.
Anyway. it doesn’t help to moan about it, I just have to come back stronger next time. That’s the beauty of this experience – we can do it again and again, spend extra quality time together and have fun as a married couple, all for just R290!
