The Randfontein Police are investigating two separate serious crimes that took place in Bhongweni in just one week.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, confirmed the first incident, an armed robbery, which took place at about 3.50am on Wednesday, 20 February.

“It was alleged that the complainant, a 31-year-old man, was with his colleague at Mashonisa Supermarket in Bhongweni Village to deliver bread. The complainant was outside offloading bread from the back of the truck while his colleague was inside the truck. Two unknown men fired two shots in the air and instructed both men to lie on the ground,” Hendricks said.

The police members were further told that the victim had been shot by two unknown men who immediately fled the scene.
