The Life Esidimeni Recovery Centre held a Spiritual Restoration Day on Thursday, 21 February in its bid to bring about hope, peace, harmony and tolerance within the community.
Moses Soobe, acting manager of the centre said the programme was aimed at healing those who battle with drug addiction.
“We have involved all faith groups in this programme so that we can help addicts to connect with a Higher Power. This session is aimed at helping them realise that if they want to recover they cannot do it on their own, because they could only achieve it with God’s help,” Soobe said.
The programme also saw performances by the West Rand Gospel Choir who moved a packed hall with their hymns.
Soobe thanked all stakeholders who were part of the programme. “I sincerely hope that through these efforts, we achieve a substance-free society so that one day we will be able to say we are proud to have rid communities of drugs,” Soobe added.
