A 37-year-old man was recently arrested for raping his housemate.
Sergeant Audrey Sefara, Westonaria Police spokesperson, confirmed that the incident took place on Tuesday, 19 February.

“The victim and the suspect were staying in different rooms. It is alleged by the victim that at about 10pm, her housemate came into her room and raped her. After the ordeal, the suspect went back to his room and the victim ran away to get assistance.
“The suspect was later apprehended by security officers and then arrested for rape by the Westonaria Police,” she added.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
