Marcelle Mans, who has been the coordinator of he Randfontein Show since 1989 takes us through some of the highlights of the Randfontein Show in the last three decades.
It’s Throwback Thursday and the Herald went back in time to 20 February 1987 when the very first Randfontein Show was publicised.
The Herald caught up with Marcelle Mans, coordinator of the Show since 1989, on Thursday, 21 February. She took us on a trip down memory lane and showed us some of the highlights.
At the time, in an edition of the Herald dated 20 February 1987, we reported that the show would be an event that the town would be proud of.
In 1987, the show was held between 25 and 28 February. It had taken the show coordinators five months to organise.
