Neighbour helps wounded man after shooting

A neighbour drove a man who was shot and wounded to a hospital.

A man shot inside the room he was renting in Simunye, Bekkersdal was driven to a hospital by a neighbour on Tuesday night.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, said, “A 33-year-old man was shot and wounded in his rented room at about 11.55pm on Tuesday, 19 February.

“The neighbour alleges that the wounded man came into his house asking for help. He then drove the victim to the Bekkersdal Emergency Clinic, from where he was later transferred to a hospital.

“The matter was then reported to police. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage and a case of attempted murder is being investigated.”
