Police raises awareness of HIV/Aids at school

The Randfontein Police along with other stakeholders visited a Mohlakeng school earlier this week to raise awareness about HIV/Aids and other social issues.

The Randfontein Police along with other stakeholders visited the Thuto Lehakwe High School in Mohlakeng on Monday, 11 February, to raise awareness about HIV/Aids and other social issues.

Portia Mabala, Randfontein Police’s Social Crime Prevention officer, embarked on this awareness campaign with the Department of Health, the West Rand District Municipality (WRDM) and the Department of Cooperative Governance (Cogta).

“They visited the school to educate the learners about HIV, teenage pregnancies and good behaviour, encouraging them not to commit crimes. They also focused on discipline and the different sexually transmitted diseases and infections,” said Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson.
