Police visit schools to address crime

Substance abuse, illegal gambling, bullying, possession of dangerous weapons and theft were some of the things discussed by police at schools in town.

The Randfontein Police visited numerous schools in town recently to raise awareness about social issues that might affect them.

According to Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, Constable Portia Mabala, the Randfontein Police Social Crime Prevention officer did the School Safety motivational talk to motivate learners to not commit crime.

“We visited the school to educate the learners about substance abuse, illegal gambling, bullying, possession of dangerous weapons and theft. We believe that we achieved our main objective to motivate them to not become involved in criminal activities,” Hendricks said.
