Two critical after bakkies collide

Two men are in a critical condition after two bakkies collided in Carletonville earlier this morning.

Two men were left critically injured following a head-on collision between two bakkies on Elandsrand Road outside Carletonville on Tuesday morning, 12 February.

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, they arrived on the scene at about 7.20am and found a bakkie in the road while another one was found on the side of the road. He said both vehicles had sustained a significant amount of damage.

“Upon assessment, paramedics found that the two drivers, both men, had sustained numerous injuries and were in a critical condition.

“The men were treated for their injuries and were provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the two men were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.”

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
