Child seriously injured in taxi-vehicle crash

An 11-year-old girl sustained serious injuries when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a taxi on Annan Road in Carletonville during the weekend. She was one of two who were injured.
Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said ER24 paramedics along with other services arrived at the scene on Saturday afternoon, 12 January and found the taxi and light motor vehicle on the side of the road.
“Paramedics found that an 11-year-old girl had sustained serious injuries while a man had sustained only minor injuries,” Meiring said.

He added that the victims were treated for their injuries and that the seriously injured child was provided with advanced life support interventions before both were transported to Fountain Private Hospital in Carletonville for further treatment.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
