‘Drugs and other crimes are major problems in Toekies’

Baagi Ba South Africa introduced a campaign against human trafficking and drugs in Toekomsrus during the festive season.

Throughout December, Baagi Ba South Africa held an educational campaign against human trafficking and drugs in Toekomsrus.

The organisation took to the streets with posters to educate the youth and inform them about the dangers of drugs and human trafficking. The message of the campaign was that anyone can become a victim, especially during the holidays.

“Since Toekomsrus is always left out of important campaigns like these, I saw it fit to introduce the campaign to the area,” said Glory Matipile, founder and general secretary of Baagi Ba South Africa.

“Drugs and other crimes are major problems in Toekomsrus. It has come to my attention that a young girl from Toekomsrus was allegedly kidnapped and is now used for pornography purposes. It can happen to anyone,” she added.
