The body of a woman with two gunshot wounds was discovered on Monday, 10 December, in a river alongside the R500 in Carletonville.
Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson said the body was spotted by a passer-by, and paramedics arrived at the scene at 5.54 pm.

“Paramedics found the body lying in among some reeds along the bank. On further inspection, they found that the woman had sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest.
“Unfortunately, the woman had been dead for some time. Nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead,” Meiring said.
He said details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
