Brandvlei girls get sanitary products

The products that were donated are all Longrich products. I hope that they will give these young women a chance to excel at school during the whole month.

In areas like Badirile, a lot of girls have to miss school during their menstrual periods because they can’t afford sanitary products.

Jane Seboletswe, a gender activist, approached local Longrich representatives to donate boxes of sanitary products to Ithuteng Secondary School to address this issue.

“During the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence campaign, we want to focus on the needs of women. I reached out to Vivian Mokome, a Longrich representative, and they were more than happy to help me with this project,” she said.

On 28 November, the boxes of sanitary products were handed over to the school where they will be distributed as the school sees fit.

Vivian is also from the West Rand and she was happy to help the community with this project.

This is the first of many projects like these. I will use this platform as well as another way to help the women in this community because one cannot live without sanitary products.

“The products that were donated are all Longrich products. I hope that they will give these young women a chance to excel at school during the whole month,” she added.
