Crewworks brings A Christmas Carol to life as you have never seen it before. • 28 November to 8 December: Transforming Arts/ Transforming Lives conference and festival at Wits University

Drama For Life has great pleasure in announcing its 10th Drama for Life Conference and Festival ‘Transforming Arts/ Transforming Lives’ which will be held at Wits University. This unique initiative will feature a wide range of topics from trauma and gender, sexualities, the body politic to aesthetic disruptions, Africa and the reclamation of spirituality, children and theatre, youth theatre and sexual health as well as arts therapies for mental health and wellness. The Arts in Conversation Series, curated in partnership with DFL’s key stakeholders and leading arts organisations, is but one of the many highlights of this exceptional Conference and festival that will enhance the knowledge base and experience of artists, community artists, arts healers and arts therapists, arts and cultural leaders and managers, arts educators, arts academics and arts researchers, and arts activists. The festival leg presents a host of cutting-edge productions by established as well as young and upcoming producers while premiering Pina, an interdisciplinary work by Drama for Life artist in residence Kwanele Finch Thusi and Eclipsed, a new play by Tlotlego Gaogakwe and Warren Nebe, performed by the Drama for Life Theatre Company. • 30 November to 2 December: Fun activity for kids at the Parkview Charity Christmas Market

No matter where you are in the world, Christmas is all about family, love and great food. Nicarela Charity has made every effort to ensure that every member of your family gets to experience this. For the past 11 years, the Parkview Charity Christmas Market has been a festive family event with lots to do for children of all ages as well as parents. It takes place at the George Hay Park in Parkview. While the adults keep themselves busy with a variety of activities such as shopping, sipping gin, or simply watching the time go by in the park, children can occupy themselves with different activities such as sand art, face-painting, nail art, temporary tattoos, wood-painting crafts, candle-dipping, play in the snow tent and train rides. The kiddies with a more adventurous spirit can enjoy bungee, rocket, the paintball shooting range and the mechanical bull. • 1 December: Randfontein Festive Fever in Wheatlands

Sky Bar presents various artists namely Nasty C, Busiswa, Maphorisa, Sketchy Bongo, DA Capo, Ankle Tap, DJ Black Uzzie, DJ Grizzly, Pro-Tee, Soulful G as well as other local DJs and West Side FM DJs at the Randfontein Festive Fever in Wheatlands. • 1 December: Scholars have a chance to win a VIP experience

The Wild West Show, hosted by DJ Grizzly – SA in association with Skybar and Lounge, will be giving three learners a chance to win a VIP experience at the Randfontein Festive Fever show. Learners from Krugersdorp, Randfontein and Roodepoort have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win an experience that they will never forget. The Wild West Show will be co-hosting the biggest music event to happen on the West Rand. “In order for learners to win the VIP experience, they must make a 30-second video of themselves dancing to a song that one of the artists will be performing at the event. They must post the video on the Skybar and Lounge Facebook page and ask friends to like and share the video. • 1 December: Health Fun Walk and Run in Randfontein

The Methodist Church of South Africa will raise funds through a Family Health Walk and Run at 116 Main Reef Road in Randfontein. Michael Sebopa, coordinator of the event, said it aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and help to reduce the impact of the HIV/ Aids pandemic in the community. • 2 December: Carols by Glowsticks evening in Greenhills

The Randfontein Baptist Church would like to invite the community of Randfontein to a Carols by Glowsticks evening, starting at 6.30pm. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate Christmas early. Traditional Christmas Carols will be sung and special items presented by the church’s Children’s and Youth Ministries. The evening will be a special evening for the whole family.
