Randfontein Police go door-to-door to tackle crime

Randfontein Police along with others went door-to-door in Mohlakeng, Brandvlei and Tambotie Mall to address various societal issues in town earlier this week.

Randfontein Police’s Social Crime Prevention Unit has partnered with Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), the Community Policing Forum (CPF), the Ward Committee Officer and patrollers for a door-to-door crime awareness campaign in Mohlakeng, Brandvlei and Tambotie Mall, to address societal issues such as crime, drugs and substance abuse, human trafficking and domestic violence.

The door-to-door campaign also educated people about societal ills like crime, drugs and substance abuse.

“They were also interacting with the community especially youth while promoting safety. During the campaign, 400 community members were reached out and 700 safety tips and informative pamphlets were handed out,” said Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, the Randfontein Police spokesperson.
