Wawa warns people about cancer

Those who were in attendance learned about various forms of cancer.

Women Against Women and Child Abuse (Wawa) held a cancer awareness campaign for residents of Toekomsrus on Tuesday, 13 November.

Enrique Bhana, Wawa founder said the awareness campaign presented by sister Nancy Williams of the Toekomsrus Clinic, was aimed at educating the residents about different common forms of cancer, their causes and how people can live healthier lives in order to avoid getting the disease.

“We decided to create awareness among our community, especially our beneficiaries, and provide them with a meal. They will be learning about some of the common types such as cervical cancer, and since there are a few men in attendance, we will also touch on the most common cancers in men, such as prostate cancer,” Enrique said.
