Jumping castles, food stalls and many fun activities kept young and old entertained at a recent bazaar held in Toekomsrus.
The Toekomsrus Methodist Church held a fun-filled fundraiser at the church grounds on Saturday, 3 November.
“The bazaar was a collective venture of the church and I am happy to say it went very well and that everyone enjoyed themselves. The aim of the fundraiser was to raise money to fix the hall’s roof,” said Olive Strachan, a preacher at the church.
The community of Toekies enjoyed tasty cakes and pancakes, vetkoek and fresh veggies, music, dancing and a special White Elephant stall which sold everything from clothes to kitchen appliances.
There was also a lot of fun activities for the old and the young to enjoy. The organisers wanted everyone to get involved and to get excited about church.
“Although this event was a fundraiser, it was also a great opportunity for fellowship to grow and for the community to get to know us. We want to change the stigma that Methodist Churches are boring, because it hasn’t been like that for a long time,” she added.
