Dangerous explosives found in Mohlakeng

Mohlakeng man arrested after police find explosives in his house.

A Mohlakeng man was arrested after the Randfontein Police found explosives in his possession.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, confirmed that the man was arrested at about 5.50pm on Thursday, 8 November.

“The explosives were found when members of the Crime Prevention Unit searched a house in Mohlakeng Extension 11,” Hendricks said.

“The suspect was arrested and detained at the Randfontein Police Station, and a case of possession of explosives was opened against him. He will appear in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 12 November,” she added.

The explosives were handed over to the West Rand Explosives Unit.
