Police fighting for children’s rights

Randfontein Police making sure that all children in the community know their rights.

It’s important for children of all ages to be aware of their rights, so the Randfontein Police are making sure that every child in the community knows what they are.

The Randfontein Police Social Crime Prevention Unit, together with West Rand Public Safety and the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs visited Twinkle Stars Daycare Centre on 25 October.

“We focused on children’s rights during the campaign. They were taught about road safety and their rights, especially regarding child abuse,” said Constable Carmen Hendricks, the Randfontein Police spokesperson.

According to Hendricks, 70 children were reached and they were all given pamphlets to colour in to reinforce what they had been taught.
