“We addressed issues like road safety, drugs and substance abuse, house-breaking, theft of motor vehicles and theft out of motor vehicles. We also raised awareness about human trafficking, drug trafficking, domestic violence, assaults, sexual assaults, gender-based violence, robberies and other common crimes. We interacted with taxi operators, commuters and the community while promoting road safety,” said Constable Carmen Hendricks, the Randfontein Police spokesperson.

About 800 people were reached and 5 000 safety tip pamphlets were handed out.

The campaign was repeated at the Westonaria taxi rank, where 600 people were reached and 3 000 pamphlets handed out.
