Hillside man arrested with illegal firearm

A .38 special revolver as well as ammunition was found on a man during a stop-and-go operation in Hillside last week.

A 32-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm in Hillside last week.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, confirmed to the Herald that they found a .38 special revolver as well as ammunition on him during a stop-and-go operation in the above-mentioned area on Friday, 19 October.

“The suspect will be appearing in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court soon,” Hendricks said.
