Police in the West Rand cluster made a total of 129 arrests for varying crimes this past weekend.
According to Constable Lucky Matome, West Rand Police cluster spokesperson, those arrested committed crimes such as assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, theft, malicious damage to property, rape, robberies, being in possession of drugs and domestic violence.

He added, “The offences committed also included minor offences such as trespassing, common assault, undocumented foreign nationals, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Those who were in contempt of court orders were also nabbed.”
All suspects will soon appear in a Magistrates’ Court within the cluster.
