Man found strangled to death, company vehicle missing

Randfontein Police seek the public's help after a man's body was found in Ventersdorp Road, Brandvlei yesterday. His vehicle is also missing.

Randfontein Police have appealed to the community for assistance in a murder investigation after a 46-year-old man was found strangled and his body dumped on Ventersdorp Road, Brandvlei on Wednesday, 10 October.

According to Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, the body was found at about 6am.

“Investigation of the scene made it apparent that the body was dumped there. The victim’s Chevrolet Utility was also taken according to information received,” said Hendricks.

“The victim was pronounced dead by emergency medical practitioners. The cause of death seems to be strangulation,” she added.

Colonel Rand Makgatho, acting Randfontein Police station commander, urged the community to assist in the tracing and recovery of the victim’s vehicle.

“We are on the lookout for a white Chevrolet Utility with FSG Property Service branding on the side. It is a company vehicle with registration number BW 54 FD GP. All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,” said Makgatho.
