Foetus found near drain

Randfontein Police are urgently requesting information that can assist them to find the mother or witnesses.

A foetus was discovered near a drainage system in Ramaphala Street, Mohlakeng last Friday.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson said, “At about 10am, it is alleged by the Vispol sector members that they received a request for police assistance in Mohlakeng. Upon arrival they interviewed the community member who informed them that another community member found the remains of a foetus,” Hendricks said.

The members investigated the scene and found a foetus near a drainage system.

“The foetus was declared dead and was taken to Roodepoort Mortuary for a post-mortem examination,” she added.

The detectives of Randfontein Police are urgently requesting information that might assist them to find the mother or witnesses who might be able to shed some light on the incident. They can be contacted on 011 278 8100.
