Sleeping Middelvlei couple surprised by armed intruders

A couple in Middelvlei were robbed of their valuables in their home.

A couple in Middelvlei have been the victims of an armed house robbery.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed the incident that took place at 3.40am on Sunday, 30 September.

“The 36-year-old man alleged that they were asleep when they were woken by a noise. He then realised that there were strangers inside the house. One of them pointed a firearm at the man. The robbers stole valuables, which include jewellery, and fled,” Hendricks said.

No one was injured during the incident and no shots were fired. The Randfontein detectives are appealing to the community to be on the lookout for jewellery which might be offered for sale.
