Maune Care foundation to promote sport

The organisation promotes various sporting codes for various children.

Maune Care, a non-profit organisation, has started an initiative in which it seeks to equip youngsters with skills in various sporting codes.

Morne Paulsen, founder of Maune Care, said the initiative was started with the aim of helping children who were not fortunate enough to participate in the sporting code of their choice as most are too exclusive or too expensive to take part in.

We started developing kids for sport, and since we have started, the initiative has grown stronger,” Morne said.

Morne said children are trained from the age of four. “At the moment we are only doing hockey, cricket, netball and tennis.

“Basically, we would like to improve the sport in our schools and clubs. We want to help kids develop skills they need for the sport they love,” Morne added.

On 29 Saturday September, the NGO also held a fundraiser on Hoërskool Jan Viljoen’s sports grounds.

“We would like to thank Almur Marais (a local artist) and the people in and around Randfontein for supporting us, and Hoërskool Jan Viljoen for the use of their fields. We would like to give the kids the opportunity to believe in anything they dream, we want to help them in anyway possible,” Morne added.
