Vehicle with eight occupants rolls, killing one

Another weekend accident, this time in Carletonville, left one person dead and several injured .

One person died and seven others were injured in a single-vehicle rollover on Station Road in Carletonville on Sunday, 16 September.

Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson said shortly before 4am, paramedics from ER24 and another service arrived on scene where they found eight victims of the single-vehicle rollover.

It is believed that the vehicle overturned several times, ejecting all eight of its occupants. The driver was found with minor injuries. He later declined to be transported to hospital.

“Six men, believed to be between 28 and 34 years old, were found with moderate injuries. They were treated on scene and later transported to a nearby hospital. Another man was found with fatal injuries. Sadly, there was nothing paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on scene by another service.”

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known. Local police attended the scene.
