Suspects wanted for stealing solar batteries

The Shisa Nyama Butchery at the Tambo Section in Bekkersdal was burgled on Wednesday.

Police have launched a manhunt for suspects following a break-in at the Shisa Nyama Butchery at the Tambo Section in Bekkersdal.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, the Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident that took place on 8 August, saying that the shop owner allegedly locked and left his place of business. “He later received a call from his employee informing him of the break-in,” Lefakane said.

“He rushed to his shop and found that his two solar batteries, as well as a radio, were missing. He reported the matter to the police and a case of business burglary was opened,” she added.

The suspects are still unknown and an investigation is under way.
